As a member of BEH-MHT Trust you have access to a range of information resources online. These include e-books, e-journals and healthcare databases.
These resources can be accessed from anywhere with internet access, so you can search for evidence-based information from work, from home or even
from a mobile device. To make it easier to find what you are looking for, this page provides links to online resources available to you and information to
help you to access them. Some resources are freely available but for many you will need to
register for an OpenAthens account in order to access them.

Log in with your OpenAthens Password

Search for a journal by title e.g. “British Journal of Psychiatry”

If we have access you will now see a link through to the journal

No link? Go to My Account and use the “request an item” option to request the article you need from the Library or contact the Library.You must be registered with the library to use this service.

Faculty Development Virtual Collection

The Virtual Faculty Collection is designed to support the work of all clinical trainers and supervisors in London, providing access to journals. Focusing on key faculty development issues including clinical supervision workplace learning, clinical teachers across the NHS can keep up to date with developments, debates and research in clinical education.

Accessing Print Journals
The vast majority of our journals are now available electronically however we do have two titles that are available in print only. If you would like to join a distribution list to receive table of contents for either of these titles please contact the Library.

We also have an archive of older journal titles in print format. These can be browsed in the Library or we can provide copies of articles on request. These holdings are also displayed when you search the NICE MyJournals page by journal title.

Proquest databases enable you to search PsycINFO* Medline *; BNI; PsycARTICLES* and the ProQuest Hospital Collection Click on the link above to access with OpenAthens . Select NHS England as your institution when prompted.

Ebscohost databases 

Ebscohost enables you to search CINAHL, Health Business Elite,
MEDLINE PEP Archive*, PsychBOOKS* and additionally to our point
of care tool Dynamed Plus. Click on the link above to access with
OpenAthens or if you are connected to the Trust network visit the
Library intranet page to access without a password.

 

Proquest Hospital collection

ProQuest Hospital Collection contains thousands of full-text health sciences journals in biomedical, clinical, psychology, nursing and allied health, and behavioural sciences, published in over 30 countries. This database also offers an invaluable range of other health resources which complement journal articles. Click on the link above to access with OpenAthens. Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature.

PsycARTICLES is a database of full-text articles from journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association, and Hogrefe & Huber. A search engine providing easy access to evidence based resources.
With no password required it can be a very good place to start researching a topic.

Relevant for fully qualified psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, it can be used for up to 25 hours of core learning towards your annual continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.

This app allows you to search and access published content provided by Ebsco publishers from your mobile. This includes journal titles from our Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, CINAHL and Medline databases. To access full content on your phone you need a key that syncs your phone to local content. Go to http://search.ebscohost.com/ and login with your OpenAthens details. Click on the iphone and Android mobile apps link right at the foot of the page. Open the email you receive in the device you want to use and follow instructions.
